Established in 2015, FLS is a boutique visual content production studio producing a variety of quality content and communications across a range of industries in Africa. Our team has produced work in South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia, Dubai, Zambia and Uganda.

FLS Founder and Managing Director, Hleku, launches Flashing Lights Photography (Pty) Ltd, with offices in the Vaal and Johannesburg.

FLS acquires its first corporate client, Life Healthcare, Brenthurst.

FLS suffers an incident of vehicle break-in theft in Maboneng, Johannesburg. Almost all the camera equipment is stolen. FLS had no out-and-about insurance.

FLS acquires second corporate client, Discovery Holdings.

Tando Mamba invests in FLS for 20% shareholding, helping the business recover the lost camera equipment

In July, FLS opens studio in Newtown Junction, Johannesburg

FLS shoots a record 11 weddings in one month (December) after a successful wedding marketing campaign

FLS moves studio to Oak Avenue, Randburg

FLS rebrands, reposition from photography studio to production studio

FLS clientele continues to grow and international work begins in Dubai and Zambia.

FLS continues local and international work, continuing the APRM documentary in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia during the AU Summit.

In February, FLS signs a lease to move to West Street, Sandton.

In March, the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown disrupts business activities. The business engages various institutions for Covid-19 relief funding.

In July Exxaro ESD awards FLS with Coid-19 relief funding in the form of a grant and interest-free loan.

Restructuring efforts continue to return the business to profitability and better weather the Covid-19 storm.

As part of restructuring, FLS appoints Chief Creative Officer to strengthen the business offerings and creative direction.

FLS commences with formalising its Internship Programme for youth in tech and creative digital specialisations.
